“Remarkable Grace” Breakfast at CENTERLINE Cafe at the Zhou B Art Center, Chicago, Illinois L. to r. May Young Chin; (Joe Mauricio); Irene (ENERI/Rieny) Cualoping, Managing Partner, ENERI Communications; Donna Bliss, Vice President, Creative Development, Zhou B Art Center; artist/entrepreneur Edward W. Lai, son of the late Chicago on-site artist Grace Lai; writer/actress Marie Yuen, Froilan Cabrera ; and financial planner Jan Paul C. Ferrer, Vice President, Morgan Stanley. The event centers on ENERI May 2015 Asian Pacific American Heritage Month Commemorative Bookmark honoring Chicago On-Site Artist Grace Lai, who was a colorful Chicago artist who specialized in the historical “on-site” documentation of Chicago’s ever-evolving architecture. Her spectacular paintings captured the dramatic demolition and ongoing transformation of Chicago’s impressive skyline. Her paintings of pen and ink with watercolor wash are a part of BP Amoco’s permanent collection, the Northwestern Hospital art collection, and many private collections. She was also the official artist of the Chicagoland Construction Safety Council in Hillside, Illinois, which housed over 100 originals of her large-scale works.
