Since the election in May 2016, Rodrigo Duterte has emerged as unusual and colorful, but an effective president of the country.edit1

He has reinvigorated the country and inspired the Christians andMuslims alike, and demonstrated the importance of leading by “A
nak Ng Puta…” personal mantra. Has he created a new model of what a great leader should be?

President Duterte was born on March 28, 1945, also known as DIGONG, he is a Filipino lawyer and politician, and the 16th President of the Republic of the Philippines.

Recently, during the Senate Hearing chaired by Senator Leila de Lima, a witness accused the President that he ordered a militia group to carry out extrajudicial killings when he was Mayor of Davao City.

After the just-concluded ASEAN meeting, President Duterte made some blunt remarks toward America that have left many questioning the Philippines’ long-standing friendly relationship with the United States.

A rash of anti-American outbursts, “putang ina”| words from Duterte has jolted the U.S. allies inAsia raising doubly about his commitment to a U.S.-led military alliance seeking to counter an increasingly assertive China, while leaving Beijing wary as well.

President Duterte said that he “won’t allow government forces to conduct joint patrols of the disputed waters near the South China Sea with foreign powers. Apparently scrapping a deal that his predecessor reached with the U.S. military, and also mentioned that he is considering acquiring defense equipment from Russia and China.

The Philippines has traditionally leaned on the U.S., its long time ally, and other Western allies, for its security needs.

Another President Duterte’s “PIM” tirade was when he called the U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines, “a gay son of a bitch” (literally translated from Filipino language) in a speech prompting U.S. Diplomats to raise the issue with the Filipino counterpart in Washington, DC.

Recounting the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry’s visit to the country, Duterte, speaking in Tagalog, said that he was feuding with U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines, Philip Goldberg.

Then, of course, there are the more than thousand dead Filipinos shot down in the streets like dogs, for reasons of drugs involvement (users and pushers alike) and a promise of more to come.

No matter how much Duterte juice you drink or how much you believe in the man, the realization that your human rights or rights of someone close to you mean nothing to this man, will have to make an impact on you, sooner or later, if you really believe all the media stories written about him and all his “PIM” pronouncements.

Philippine President Rodrigo “Digong” Duterte appears to be the iron-handed, yet honest leader, and that’s what many Filipinos want

To many Filipinos, he is different, because he is special.

Let us wait awhile and see more unfolding of Duterte’s real colors…“Ay, Putang Ina Mo!”.
