In celebration of the Filipino-American History Month of October, the International Society of Filipinos in Finance and Accounting (ISFFA) Chicago Chapter in partnership with the Philippine Consulate General (PCG) of Chicago will be organizing the first ever Filipino Restaurant Week (FRW) in Chicago on 6-21 October 2019. The FRW’s main purpose is to promote the rich Filipino cuisine as well as to bring awareness to those who have not had the chance to experience our food culture.

From October 6th to 21st, 2019, participating Filipino restaurants in Chicago and in nearby suburbs will have the opportunity to offer special prixfixe menus to diners. The menus will vary, but participating restaurants will serve a special lunch and/or dinner menu at a fixed price. This will allow restaurants to promote and offer a special “combo” meal from their existing menu and for diners to sample the meal at a certain price.

Diners will earn points every time they visit participating restaurants and will get a chance to join the raffle and win prizes. They will be provided a sheet that needs to be presented and stamped at each restaurant they dine in. The raffle draw will be held at Mora Asian Kitchen (627 E Boughton Rd, Bolingbrook, IL 60440) on October 27th (Sunday) from 1:00-4:00 p.m. All the participating restaurants and sponsors will be present. Diners can follow @isffachicago on Instagram and Facebook and the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago also on Facebook.

All Filipino restaurants in Chicagoland are welcome to participate and offer their best Filipino dishes. This will be a great opportunity to highlight Filipino food as well as to promote Philippine culture in celebration of Filipino-American History Month.

For further details about the event or if you are interested in participating as one of our featured restaurants, please contact Paula Arnedo: paula.f.arnedo@gmail.com; (847) 312-9304 of ISFFA or Joey Erandio: joey.chicago.pcg@gmail. com (312) 583-0621 of the Philippine Consulate. END
