Saying Goodbye 2024 and Welcoming 2025
By: Veronica Leighton
Saying goodbye, particularly to an old year, is always hard to muster, and welcoming the new year is always an exciting thing to do.
Here we are, bright and early, delightfully looking forward to the new year, resolving so many things to do until the finish line, and be triumphant and successful with the resolutions we’ve made to give us the ever-sweetest memories to treasure for the lifetime.
Most important for the new year is a stick-to-itiveness attitude to pursue our new year’s resolutions successfully throughout the year. But, unfortunately, many new year’s resolutions seem to be broken after just two or three months of its hasty pursuit. Due to the limited space on this page for a discussion of the reasons for the non-stick-to-itiveness to new year’s resolutions, we’ve decided to jump this article to the next page 5 of Veronica’s Vibes.
As you can see on our Editorial on this editorial page, “Sad New Year Celebration As We Watch LA Burning,” we have touched on the wildfires, its dangers, causes, and harms to our population. Something to think about seriously in these modern times. We are happy to share with our readers the annual Via Times/CPRTV Christmas party pictorial divided into the Vibes page and jumped on page 30. It was indeed a very memorable occasion, full of fun and camaraderie, enjoyed by our guests. Warm thank you’s to the following VT staff for the help: Pastor Nancy Abiera, Girlie Pascual (MC), James DC (DJ), Faye Mendiola, and Robert Leighton; and to the following friends for delizz desserts:: Gerry Rebello, Nirmla Johnson, Geraldine Gaden, Vicky Gutierrez, Jane Miran, and Faye. Our beautiful cover this month features the PESO’s (Philippine Engineers & Scientists Organization) young Princesses and Little Princesses (with their respective escorts) presentation and coronation during the successful annual PESO induction of officers last November 2024. Please enjoy the beautiful cover and inside page 8 pictorial. Congratulations to the current PESO President Evelyn Natividad and its members.
Sharing our connectiveness to help on this holiday season to the Priests and Seminarians of Sariaya, Quezon, please see photo with caption here, “The Priests and Seminarians want to extend their many thanks to Ms. Veronica Leighton of Via Times/CPRTV of Chicago.”
Your favorite columnists send wonderful holiday greetings through their respective columns. Enjoy reading them as they are all beautifully written, as usual!
