New Year’s Resolutions: Make Or Break?
By: Veronica Leighton
As I have mentioned in Publisher’s Notes on page 4 regarding New Year’s resolutions that get broken or result in unfulfillment after gyms fill up, people would stay off from booze, sugar, and eating out, after a few months into the new year, we dig up the reasons why. What are the exact reasons why so many people struggle to stick to New Year’s resolutions?
Reasons are: Ambitious or unrealistic goals; lack of a clear plan which makes it hard to measure progress or stay motivated; lack of drive; no roadmap which leads to poor planning; no room for flexibility; habits that are hard to change; loss of motivation; easily forgotten when other demands take priority; and long term commitment which is quite difficult to meet.
So if you’re having a hard time to stick to your resolutions this year, then there is always next year. Just always remember to set smart goals within your limits; not too many resolutions to focus on, build a support system, and always stay motivated.
Via Times/CPRTV celebrated its annual Christmas party last December 29th, and we would like to share with you the beautiful memories
of this celebration through the photographs that we have captured on this page and on page 30 of this January issue. It was a sweet and loving kind of family-affair celebration, and we thank the VT/CPRTV staff for their dedication, loyalty, and love that they’ve shared with us through the years to reach out to our beloved community in Chicago.
Thanks to our host, Jan Paul Ferrer, for the annual Christmas luncheon treat at the University Club, an iconic private social club in Chicago since 1800’s, This year’s guest included Cate Cauguiran, Channel 7 Newscaster and her husband, Louella Cabalona, and Gerry Rebello.
