Risk – Taking

By: Nancy Abiera
“For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: “Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.” Esther 4:14-16”
Happy International Women’s Day!!! This celebration began in New York City on March 8, 1857, when female textile workers took a risk-taking effort and marched in protest of unfair working conditions and unequal rights for women. It was one of the first organized strikes by working women, during which they called for a shorter work day and decent wages. This women displayed courage, determination and the act of risk taking showed their conscious or non-conscious controlled behaviors with a perceived uncertainty about its outcome, and/or about its possible benefits or costs for the physical, economic or psycho-social well-being of oneself or others.
This action of risk-taking was also true long time ago around 478 B.C. when Esther, an ordinary Jewish woman took risk and saved the Jewish people from death and harm. Esther got favor from the King and became the Queen. We, women (and men included) have great opportunities to learn these lessons from Queen Esther. We do these in unity to make a big long lasting difference in this world for such a time like this. I use the acronym “C.R.A.F.T.E.D”.
Courage without unwavering is a lesson from Esther quick and short yet powerful ways she lived in courageously facing literally “Do or Die” choice. Most often, when we are so pressured in situations like this that our real character displays the innermost our beliefs and values in life. We are like tea bags placed in hot hotter. Our true color and strength show in extreme pressures of heat of challenges.
Risk taking resulting in Resilience for Right-living in complete obedience to God she was so determined and bold in risk taking. This increases peoples’ resilience and righteousness thereby helps in the maturity and degree of consistent courageous lifestyle. Remember, the storms and hardships we encounter in life are not meant to be “Punished” but to be “Polished” for even greater or greatest purpose.
Anointed and chosen by God in amazing ways as she knew her goal, the anointing power she can tap into and possess thereby using her gifts, favor and connections
with the King for delivering her people from harm to the point of death.
Faithfully believing and trusting God alone as she focused fully that the sovereign God is on their side protecting and providing for them though He may seem working greatly in the midst of all their difficulties.
Test turned to Testimony so powerful that it spread all throughout while celebrated for many years remembering the goodness, grace and greatness the results in risk taking.
Empowered Excellence for great things. We shine brightly and seasoned with flavor for we are the light and salt of the earth. We are reminded and remember we are made in the image and likeness of an all powerful, almighty, omniscient and omnipresent God.
Divine Destiny as we align and we become aware of the purpose we are created for; discovering the why, the what, and the how, etc. as well as all the questions in life answered in crystal clear.
Don’t let the risk take chances while you suffer. With courage & faith, do risk-taking winning-lifestyle!
PRAYER: Dear Lord, make us all be like Esther, C.R.A.F.T.E.D. by You. In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!
Always choose “On A Bright Side” moving further and farther “On A Brightest Side”.
