The King and I, A must-see spectacular stage show at the Lyric Opera, starting on April 29, 2016 until whole month of May.

Media Day for The King and I and cast interviews at the Lyric Opera. The following interviews were aired on CPRTV with youtube link…leading stars Kate Baldwin (Anna Leonowens) and Paolo Montalban (King of Siam), both recognized Broadway stars…Kate Baldwin earned Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critic’s Circle Award nominations for her starring role in the 2009 revival of Finian’s Rainbow, to name a few, while Paolo Montalban is best known for his portrayal of the Prince in ABC’s Wonderful World of Disney telefilm of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. On Broadway he has been seen as Manjiro in Pacific Overtures, performed the role of Lun Tha in The King & I, and in the play Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and many more, and he’s 100% Filipino.. .

Ali Ewoldt (Tuptim), half Filipina, is making her Lyric debut and made her Broadway debut as Cosette in the first Broadway revival of Les Miserables and starred as Maria in the first national tour of West Side Story, to name a few; Sam Simahk (Lun Tha) makes his Lyric debut, returning to Siam after a few years away. Previous credits include many outstanding stage plays.

Two local talented children who have been starting to make waves, Matthew Uzarraga (Prince Chulalongkorn) who’s making his Lyric debut but has several stage appearances to his credit. He was most recently seen as Schwartz in A Christmas Story the Musical at Paramount Theatre; Charlie Babbo (Louis Leonowens) also makes his Lyric debut. Theater credits: Mary Poppins (Paramount Theatre); Les Miserables, A Christmas Carol (Drury Lane); Treasure Island (Lookingglass Theatre); A Christmas Story, and many others,
