The Chicago Council on Global Affairs

The Chicago Council on Global Affairs is seeking applications from exceptional young leaders for its Emerging Leaders (EL) Program class of 2018. Chicago’s role as a global city depends on the international engagement and commitment of successive generations of leaders. This is core to the mission of our Emerging Leaders Program. This unique, globally focused program provides exclusive opportunities to engage directly with world influencers and top thinkers and to develop key professional skills. During the thought-provoking year of discussions, site visits, and skill-building sessions, ELs are challenged to develop new insights that will allow them to successfully navigate an increasingly complex and networked world.

Ideal Emerging Leader candidates are highly accomplished in their careers, between the ages of 30 to 40, and are expected to rise to the top of their fields in the next five to ten years. They demonstrate a strong professional or personal interest in international affairs, a commitment to community engagement, and a thirst for knowledge. The Council will intentionally seek outstanding leaders who reflect the rich diversity of Chicago.

Detailed information on the Emerging Leaders Program, participant qualifications, online application materials, and background on the previous classes of Emerging Leaders can also be found on our website. And take a look at this new interactive snapshot on what it means to be an Emerging Leader.

Please share this call for applications with your network on Facebook and on Twitter and consider referring an exceptional young leader you know.

Application will close at 5 p.m. CT on April 26. Should you have any questions, please contact Jennifer Litvak, assistant director of next generation, at jlitvak@thechicagocouncil.org or + 1 (312) 821-7505.
