Great news for me, coming from the University of the Philippines Alumni Association in America (UPAAA) stating that I will be awarded one of the Distinguished Alumni In Mass Communication on September 1, 2019 in San Francisco at the UPAAA Convention and Grand Reunion at the Crowne Plaza Airport, per offi cial letter from current president Nelsie Parrado). Thank you, UP Beloved, UP Naming Mahal!

Here’s the latest development news about my beloved Alma Mater, the University of the Philippines Diliman..

UP remains the Philippines’ top-ranking university as one of only fi ve universities from Southeast Asia in the top 100, with two from Singapore and the other two from Malaysia.

The University of the Philippines (UP) was named top 95 educational institution in the latest Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings (THE AUR), the first time the country’s state university ranked in the top 100 list of the London-based publication.

THE university ranking also puts UP in the 4th spot among Southeast Asian universities.

UP has been ranking in the THE World University Rankings (WUR) since 2017, reaching the Top 156th Asian university in 2018.

UP’s current ranking in THE rankings released in May, places the state university in the upper 23 percent of 417 universities from 27 countries for 2019.

THE WUR evaluates educational institutions based on 13 performance indicators grouped into the following areas: teaching (the learning environment); research (volume, income and reputation); citations (research influence); international outlook (staff, students and research); and industry income (knowledge transfer). Filipinos Ranked No. 3 among the top 50 best-looking (Sexiest) nationalities

Ukrainians have been voted the sexiest people in a new survey, with Danish, 2nd, and Filipino, third, fourth in the ranking is Brazil, Australia is in fi fth place followed by South Africa in sixth and Italy in seventh. The rest of the top 10 is made up of Armenia (eighth), England (ninth) and Canada (10th). Americans 45th – and the Irish last. Scotland comes in at 38th in the ranking while Wales is in 41st place. Other countries in lowly positions are Norway (46th), Slovenia (47th), Belgium (48th) and Croatia (49th).

The survey was carried out by Big 7 Travel, which quizzed a sample – 8,500 respondents – of its 1.5million social media users about the world’s sexiest people. Those taking part were given no specifi – cations of the term ‘sexy’, so the interpretation of the word was up to them.

 e Philippines has four Miss Universe title holders: Gloria Diaz (1969), Margie Moran (1973), Pia Wurtzbach (2015) and Catriona Gray (2018).  is is not counting the other Filipina winners in international beauty titles. such as, Miss International, Miss World, and Miss Earth.
