Sonoma County Wine Country’s Chicago Visit

pr4Representatives from Sonoma County Tourism, Winegrowers and Vintners, were on hand at a press meet and greet in Chicago.

In 2014, Sonoma County Winegrowers made the groundbreaking commitment to become America’s first 100% sustainable wine region by 2019. Just 12 months after the launch, more than 43% of the region’s vineyards (25,987 acres) are already going through the sustainability assessment, far exceeding expectations.

A small reception was hosted by the Sonoma County group from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at The James Hotel (55 East Ontario, Chicago IL 60611). In addition to representatives, growers and vintners were in attendance, as well as representatives from a selection of AVAs including Dry Creek, Alexander, Sonoma and Russian River Valley.

A consumer tasting followed that night.
