10th ACGTDT Launched in Chicago

The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago, in partnership with the Philippine Department of Tourism – New York, hosted the launching of the 10th Ambassador, Consuls General, and Tourism Directors Tour (ACGTDT) to the Philippines last March 2nd at the Consulate’s Kalayaan Hall.

The ACGTDT was conceptualized in 2005 as a flagship project under then Philippine Ambassador to the United States, now Secretary of Foreign Affairs Ramon del Rosario. The project’s aim is to entice Filipino Americans and foreign tourists to travel with Philippine diplomats and deepen their appreciation of Philippine history, heritage, and culture.

Now on its 10th year, the ACGTDT will take participants to various heritage sites around Manila and, for the first time, in Cebu. The basic tour is scheduled to take place on 6-10 July 2015. Post-basic tours to Bohol, Boracay, Davao, Dumaguete, and Puerto Princesa are also offered.

Interested persons may contact the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago (tel. 312-583-0621 ext 22) or the Philippine Department of Tourism in New York (212-575-7915). More information may be found on the program’s official website, www.acgtdt.com. Deadline for registration is 15 May 2015. END.
