Hurried Goodbye to Beautiful Chicago Summer

September month is always the hurrying-up, dizzyingly rushing, getting ready for the cooler fall months of October, that turns up cold in November, and colder in wintry December, and coldest in January and February, in terms of social, work, and other physical activities.

Still unable to travel far since the sad personal event upon my husband’s passing last year, I’ve resolved to enjoy the last days of summer this year by visiting and enjoying the attractions and boating at the nearby beautiful Galena, Illinois and harvesting vegetables at Goebberts Farm in Pingree Grove, IL, in the company of my two precious friends Rev. Nancy Abiera (VT columnist “On A Bright Side”) and Rita Carino (good friend and mother of CPRTV Newscaster Brigitte Cueter).

Fun indeed, especially for a brave senior like me, rushing, running, riding the bumper carts to catch the boat. Haisst! I thought I had lost my breath. I begged them to put me in a hammock and carry me to wherever they are planning to go, as they would enjoy my company better that way.

Please enjoy the various articles of your favorite columnists and pictorials, showing that our community is now open for more fun, camaraderie, and enjoyment, as it’s a beautiful world out there, folks! Enjoy the pictures taken on this page of my brief summer escapades with my friends. ###

Great for everyone’s physical and mental wellness, as this is a Mental Awareness Month!
