Corazon Guzon was born on December 29, 1942, and passed away on April 27, 2024. Corazon was born in Santa Maria Ilocos Norte, Philippines. Corazon graduated from Far Eastern University with a degree in Nursing. In 1966, she immigrated to the United States to pursue her professional career. Her career spanned over 40+ years, from floor nurse to ICU nurse to psychiatric nurse to United States Post Office. Post-retirement, Corazon annually volunteered to provide medical care to the needy in the Philippines with the Philippine Medical Association of Chicago.
She had a lifelong passion for travel and adventure but her greatest joy was spending time with and cooking up amazing Filipino dishes for her family. She truly loved them and was a wonderful mother and “Mama” to her grandsons.
Corazon will always have a very, special place in their hearts and will be sorely missed. Corazon’s Celebration of Life Mass will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 1030am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 1012 Lake St, Evanston, IL 60201.
