What Is Special And Important About Month of April?
Easter usually comes in the month of April. It is what is called a ‘moveable feast’ because the date of it is fixed according to the moon. Easter Sunday has to be the first Sunday after the full moon which means that Easter can fall as early as 22 March or as late as 25 April .
April itself symbolizes growth and renewal. It is a peak spring month in the Northern Hemisphere, bringing blooming gardens, warming weather, and iconic celebrations like Earth Day, April Fools’ Day, besides Easter. It is a month of environmental awareness (Earth Day), significant religious holidays (Easter, Passover), and civic observances focusing on health, volunteering, and diversity.
Key traits include Aries/Taurus signs, daisy/sweet pea flowers, diamond birthstone, packed with major, widely recognized awareness months, focusing heavily on health, safety, and heritage. Key observances include Autism Acceptance Month, Stress Awareness Month, Sexual Assault Awareness & Prevention Month, Arab American Heritage Month, and National Donate Life Month.
Like spring, this month represents the blossoming of life after a period of dormancy, encouraging spiritual and personal growth; a time for opening hearts, minds, and doors to new opportunities; and a time for tapping into inner strengths, shedding the past, and embracing a renewed sense of purpose.
“April Theory” (Rebirth): Popularly, this is viewed as the true start of the year for personal growth and emotional rejuvenation, used as a time to set intentions, much like a second new year, focusing on manifesting goals and nurturing personal transformations, focusing on breaking out of comfort zones and “opening” themselves to new experiences or spiritual practices, and reconnecting with nature, encouraging individuals to “bloom”.
The Bible says, April is the month of Divine Assurance, “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High, Will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty whose power no enemy can withstand”.
We also honor in April the Filipinos’ April celebration of Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor) on April 10 in Chicago and April 9 in the Philippines, honoring courage, sacrifice, and freedom, that was held at Bataan Bridge in the Chicago Loop this year. It stands as a solemn remembrance of the heroism and sacrifice of the brave Filipino and American soldiers who fought during World War II, especially in connection with the tragic and historic Bataan Death March–a shared legacy of sacrifice and alliance for the month of April.##
